Prudhoe 1st Scout Group

The 1st Prudhoe Scout Group is based in the former mining town of Prudhoe, only 10 miles from Newcastle upon Tyne on the south bank of the River Tyne. Here a 30m long stone and marbel hillside badger marks the path to our Norman castle which guards our Scout hut and the home of our thriving scouting community.

We welcome girls and boys aged 6 to  over 14 to a programme covering a wide range of activities.  Emphasis is on fun and the outdoors.  Weekly meeting nights during term time with additional camps and activities on various weekends.

Subscription payable of £35 three times a year.  Members from any background are welcome.

We have a waiting list for young people at the moment but have vacancies for adult helpers and leaders.

Prudhoe 1st Scout Group is one group in the Hadrian District of the Northmberland County Scouts organisation.

Hadrian

Hadrian Scout District incorporates nine Groups and three Explorer Units.Hadrian Scout District is situated to the West of Newcastle upon Tyne and is geographically the largest District in England. It was the location in 1908 of “Lookwide”, the first ever National Scout Camp at Fourstones. The vast majority of the District is rural yet Scouting takes place right along the Tyne valley. The main attraction is Hadrian’s Wall and many Scouting visitors use the District Camp Site at picturesque Dilston
